The Metamorphoses of the Sacred – Sessions 1 & 2

Following Rudolf Otto, I call this the feeling of the sacred, which lies at the origin of the various spiritual and religious currents of the world. In the first session, we will revisit the major concepts of the sacred in religion and spirituality, and we will see how they have developed and transformed over millennia, from prehistory to the Renaissance. In the second session, we will consider the modern and contemporary eras, attempting to understand the profound upheavals in the concept of the sacred that are at work and their consequences for our societies and individuals.
