“We are not going through a trivial moment of crisis; we are living in a decisive moment for the future of humanity. How can we escape a dynamic that is beyond our control and a system that is leading us into a dead end? We have each experienced how great the resistance to change is—within ourselves, as in the political and economic worlds. We have seen the beauty of our planet, the richness of humanity, and we have suffered to see them destroyed.
Yet, like so many others, we refuse to resign ourselves.
Another world is within our reach. A world founded on humility, sobriety, and sharing. A world where deep joys would be more desired than fleeting pleasures. A world that is more equitable, more fraternal, more connected to the Earth. This world is not a utopia. We can all contribute to making it happen.
But this will only be possible through a revolution of consciousness.”
