– Cecilia – Your book “Crystal Heart” There are no coincidences… yesterday afternoon, before a bookstore closed, I told my children I wanted to give us a joint Christmas present. It was the book Crystal Heart, ” which I managed to grab just before closing time. My children told me it was a gift mainly for me! I savored this gift on December 25th, I could even say “devoured” it… This book is simply magnificent because of the captivating story, because of the messages it conveys about Love, Love in all its forms, all its dimensions, about Love that gives life its meaning.
It is better to suffer from loving than to suffer from never having loved…
A book full of wisdom, full of love, which gave a beautiful dimension to this Christmas Day. I think I have just passed on the desire to read it to my children. Another gift. Thank you, Mr. Lenoir, thank you for raising awareness…

– Nenya – The Lost Word Dear Frédéric, I am rereading The Lost Word . I have also read The Angel's Promise several times. I am currently in Pompeii with Livia and Javolenus. These two novels have become so familiar to me that they seem to have been truly lived. I can form a very real image of Moira, Jean, and Johanna. I have never been to Mont Saint-Michel or Pompeii, but I feel as if I am there when I am immersed in these novels. My husband, on the other hand, prefers to delve into your other books. He is reading The Little Treatise on the Inner Life . He finds these pages splendid and says of this book: it is the best book I have
ever read. This short note is also to congratulate you, to thank you, but also, since we have read everything by Frédéric Lenoir, I would very much like to read a new novel. When will this pleasure come? Merry Christmas to you and best wishes for 2015! Catie/Nenya

– Alain2612 (alainleclere@orange.fr) – Your appearance on RTL Hello dear Frédéric Lenoir, thank you so much for your appearance on RTL this Saturday, December 20th, with Marie Drucker.
Yes, a thousand times YES, Yoga and Meditation must be introduced in schools, exclusively in Preschool and Elementary.
How do you explain that it still hasn't become a practice, even though teachers have been advocating for it for the past five years?
Our society is trapped in an ideological straitjacket fueled by past, present, and future leaders. This political ideology aims to keep people dependent on that power. It is crucial that children not develop a capacity for synthesis and analysis.
Because if that were the case, the aforementioned leaders would be ousted from power.
This is my point of view, and I wish to share it with you and your readers. To those who wish to debate, I welcome opposing arguments. Thank you for reading. I wish you the success you deserve.

– Isabelle Finally, the opportunity to meet you, to hear you speak, and to hear your message of optimism, and therefore of hope, in Bordeaux. Whatever your works, whether of faith or messengers of wisdom, they help us to pass on (and believe in) this optimism to our children, and to gain serenity. Indeed, as you point out, current events and the messages conveyed by society daily tend to push us toward pessimism and gloom, despite the hope that our faith allows us to have. Thank you, then, for your work, thank you for our children. And thank you for this rare and enriching interlude.

– Christine (Paris) – Thank you! I loved your book, *Heart of Crystal* , and all the beautiful messages it contains. After just a few lines, I couldn't put it down until the very last page… It made me want to come see you this evening at the Atout Livres bookstore in Paris. I don't regret it at all. I left with a desire to read Spinoza, Aristotle, and many others… Thank you for sharing this.

– Camille (Reims 51) – Your visit to Reims A big thank you for being here in Reims yesterday.
It was a wonderful gift to listen to you and reflect together on life.
Your books are invaluable resources, moments of reflection that allow us to be present in the moment and to question ourselves, the life around us, our way of living, and the meaning we want to give to our existence.
Thank you for your words that awaken the soul. Continue to believe in what you write about. Humanity needs it.
Saturday, December 6, 2014 – Marina – Congratulations!
I loved your talk in Bastia; the time flew by… I hope there will be more to come. It's always a real pleasure to read your work, and for the first time, I was able to truly listen to you. Thank you for this initiatory tale, an answer to the opening of the heart, to all that can connect us to what is essential, to the sacred. Please continue to nourish our souls. Thank you also for loving our island. Best wishes.

– Moune – Reviving Hope Mr. Lenoir, I didn't know you. I discovered you on the show with Mrs. Voulzy and Souchon. You made me want to read your work. The very next day, I bought your book, * Heart of Crystal* , and I LOVED it! I am a single mother, happy and fulfilled, who thinks that my heart is, modestly, enclosed in a small yellow box, like the surprise egg that all children know, and not crystal, but the result is the same. Thank you for helping us grow spiritually and for encouraging us to reflect on ourselves. Your book is magnificent, it gives hope, a feeling of well-being from the first page to the last. I highly recommend it, for ages 7 and up…. Sincerely, Moune

– Marina – Thank you. I was in Nîmes last Saturday for the interview about the book * Crystal Heart * and the book signing. Listening to you is a true pleasure. One can feel that you have a beautiful soul. I appreciate your books, which do us good and bring us so much. Thank you for everything you do.
Saturday, November 29, 2014 – Marie Martine
We have just returned from Nîmes where we went to hear you speak. It was a gift during this Christmas season; your presence and your smile nourished our souls. When I read your books, I always feel as though I hear your voice, and I can even say your path.
Thank you for your presence and your availability to us all. With all my gratitude
Saturday, November 29, 2014 – Nadia – Crystal Heart
I am one of your loyal readers. For some time now, I've been wondering how to get my grandchildren interested in the quest for the Essential. Your book, Crystal Heart, gives me this opportunity, and I thank you for it. It is easy to read and gradually delivers messages of wisdom and love (agape). It will find its place under the Christmas tree for my 14-year-old granddaughter. I sincerely thank you for allowing us, through your books, to become familiar with the wisdom of the world. This helps us to evolve spiritually. I am grateful.
Thursday, November 27, 2014 – Annie – Thank you.
I'm currently rereading *Petit traité de vie intérieure * for the second time… subsequently, I similarly enjoyed * L'Âme du Monde *, and most recently * Cœur de Cristal *. Last Sunday, you were a guest of the Souchon/Voulzy duo, whom I admire (I share Voulzy's questions and passion for history)… so thank you for bringing so much talent to your writing: it rekindles forgotten lights within us.

– Grandma – Crystal Heart “Grandma,” my granddaughters ask me, “aren’t you a little crazy?”
“Of course I am, it’s taken me a long time (70 years). Your beautiful dog has just died, and grandma though I am, I can’t find the words. Perhaps this book will help you.” Wonderful book, thank you.

– Chris – Thank you. I was at the "Ideas Lead the World" festival in Pau yesterday. Thank you for your wonderful presentation and for the book signing… and thank you for staying beyond the originally scheduled time. I was one of the lucky ones who got one of their books signed, but I was also one of those reserved and slightly emotional people who didn't know what to say once they were in front of the person…! So all I could say was "thank you for your books" when what I really meant was, "thank you for this personal journey they're allowing me to take, me, who has been told by several doctors that I'll be depressed for life, just like a diabetic or someone with high blood pressure is considered a lifelong illness and in need of treatment, me, who is therefore medically categorized as unhappy for life… and who wants to fight against this and against this narrative." It's not easy to say this out loud, which is why I'm taking the liberty of doing it here. Thank you.
Sunday, November 23, 2014 – Isabelle – A pure moment of happiness.
I've just returned from the Pau book fair, "Ideas Lead the World," on the theme of happiness, and I watched your presentation on the video screen because there wasn't enough room in the auditorium.
I didn't know you personally, but my sister is an avid reader of your work. Around us were faces captivated by your universal, simple, yet demanding message. You have the talent to find the right words for intuitions or flashes of insight that sometimes cross our minds but remain dormant for lack of being cultivated, reflected upon, and embraced. Thank you for your sincerity, your authenticity, and your empathy. Three hours of book signing without even going to lunch (I wasn't one of the lucky recipients, as the little red ribbon was permanently tied just as we were about to say goodbye) underscores the attention and respect you have for your readers. The public was not mistaken and generally praised your great modesty and approachability. I will therefore delve into your writings…
Thursday, November 20, 2014 – Hervé (Bordeaux) – TV5
I very much enjoyed your participation in the TV5 program this evening. It was quite a journey, and the reflections I share are ones I also share (raising awareness among young people about how to approach life's challenges, awakening… changing the world begins with changing oneself). The opportunity that every pain represents to help us evolve towards something more peaceful… I appreciate the “illustrated wisdom” of the ancients.
For my part, I've developed the following thought: if I apply moderate pressure to a healthy part of your body, you won't feel any pain… but if I press on a part that is already injured or diseased, you will probably feel pain. So it's not the finger that presses that is the source of the pain, but rather it is within us! I believe this simple observation can help many of those for whom “hell is other people.” In any case, it allowed me to get through it… Best regards
Wednesday, November 19 – Mauro Armillès – To
thank Mr. Frédéric Lenoir for the treasures of wisdom found in his books. Being a "bulkie" of information on paper, TV and the internet, he made me understand that we should be interested in 90% of the beauty of the world. I read The Little Treatise on Inner Life and The Healing of the World . Thank you again.
Wednesday, November 12, 2014 – Mina – Gratitude
Finally, a lecture by Frédéric Lenoir in Bastia, what a joy! In my quest for spirituality, I first want to thank you for everything you have given me over the past ten years. I discovered you through "Le Monde des Religions" (The World of Religions) and since then I have read your books and listened assiduously to your program "Les Racines du Ciel" (The Roots of Heaven). Leili Anvar, with her delicacy and sensitivity, conveys wonderful messages to us. All these distinguished guests, Christian Bobin, Jacqueline Kelen, and so many others, are truly heartwarming. Your voice has a Christ-like quality. Thank you a thousand times.

– RP Hello, I just finished Crystal Heart . What a joy! Thank you for this wonderful story. Sincerely
Monday, November 10, 2014 – Chris – The Oracle of the Moon.
While browsing the shelves of my local bookstore, I chose this book because I've read you before, both as a historian and as a novelist. But... to be honest, it was a choice made without conviction or much motivation. Going through a somewhat difficult period in my life (to put it mildly...), few things really grab my attention. Against all odds, I devoured the book in four days. I found it magnificent. For its story, of course, but also because it teaches, or rather reminds me of, historical, philosophical, and cultural facts that had been forgotten. And then because it makes you think about the meaning of life... and that passage at the very beginning of the hero's life, "at the risk of [...] missing out on both his dream life and the normal life he could have led," has resonated strangely with me ever since. Thank you for this book.
Thursday, November 6, 2014 – Sylvie – BFM TV
I watched you on BFM this evening, the news and other program, and I completely agree with you. You were perfect, simple, and clear. Thank you! You are wonderful; we love reading your work. You do remarkable work as a philosopher firmly rooted in our times. I wish you continued success, joy, and a long life. Sincerely, Sylvie
Saturday, November 1, 2014 – Pierre (Geneva, Switzerland) – François
Dear Sir, I have read and shared your book on Francis, which is excellent, like your other writings. The interest aroused by this authentic witness to the message of Christ is immense, touching all social and religious circles, even those furthest from the Church and the Christian faith. Thanks to him, the message comes through directly, in a way sidelining the Church and its conservative constraints. Even if the Pope doesn't manage to change much, he will have given new impetus to the Christian message and sparked an unexpected interest in this Christ you speak of so well.
The Christian message needed the Enlightenment in the 18th century to be freed from its appropriation by the Church; Francis, like his namesake saint or John XXIII, is doing the same.
Your book is an excellent mouthpiece for this message and provides an essential and coherent version for those who read it. Thank you.

– Jalice – Acknowledgments Reading your posts is a true pleasure. Thank you for these moments of sharing and reflection. I can't wait to start Crystal Heart . A devoted reader
Sunday, October 26, 2014 – Pierre – Hello life!
A little treatise on inner life on the cover… We could have called this book: “A little treatise on life within” because in this book there is everything you need to say “hello to life!” like you say hello to a friend.
Sunday, October 26, 2014 – Isabelle (Lima, Peru) – Thank you.
I just finished The Soul of the World . A thought-provoking book, full of wisdom, that helps us understand the richness of the present moment. A grain of sand to make the world move. It's a real pleasure to read your books. You feel good afterward… THANK YOU.
Sunday, October 26, 2014 – Mildred – The Wave of the Soul
How good it is to touch the essence of life…
To read such kind, restorative words…
To experience the sharing of love…
To communicate a perspective of continuous growth…
To have faith in humanity's capacity to live well together…
To trust in the growth of the spirit, of being,
To emphasize the possibility of being free in spirit, happy in heart…
The light you radiate encourages me to continue on my path
. Thank you. Sincerely yours
Monday, October 20, 2014 – Catherine – A huge thank you for all these beautiful books!
I began discovering your work with *The Soul of the World *, a magnificent book that my brother gave me for Christmas two years ago. What a wonderful gift!
I have just finished your * Little Treatise on Inner Life *. Several years ago, I began a long and difficult inner journey that I have understood better in recent months. Focused on this work, I had somewhat forgotten the totality of its human dimension, which you have so skillfully captured. This book came at just the right time to shed further light on my spiritual journey, and certain points have enriched my reflection.
It is not always easy to share, even with loved ones, everything related to inner or spiritual life. This book offers it to us with simplicity and erudition, closeness and depth. A huge thank you!
Monday, October 20, 2014 – Anne – Crystal Heart
Hello, I just finished Crystal Heart with a wonderful feeling: deeply moved! It's truly a success; a beautiful story, a coming-of-age tale that lives up to expectations. I'm a storyteller, and I read it from cover to cover wondering how to tell it, adding music here, a song there… Perhaps I'll do that, if it's possible?
In the meantime, I'm going to give it as a gift and have it read aloud because this book is a balm for the soul!
Thank you. Warmest regards
Sunday, October 19, 2014 – John Wildenguth – johnwildenguth@gmail.com – What a shame! What
a shame that despite your great spirituality you can't resist advertising your book, or even choosing the theme of your show for that purpose. Spiritual perhaps, but certainly lacking in class, dear Frédéric.

– Dominique – Crystal Heart Dear Frédéric, I was immediately struck by how beautiful this book is. I'm referring to the physical object itself, and especially the paper, which is so white and smooth. Master Zhou's first teaching, and his metaphor of the mirror, gave my daughter and me the opportunity to revisit something I remind her of every time she comes home from school upset because someone made fun of her. I think that in the future, I will talk to her again about Master Zhou, advising her again and again to steer clear of him. I discovered many other things, some of which I've already read in your work, that I would like to share with her. The magic of the world and of encounters, the path of learning, the importance of knowing where you want to go, how to recognize true love… Now it will be simpler! So thank you for this work, which reflects your personality through its light and apparent simplicity, and which would make a lovely children's film. Take care.

– Alaintchik (Trilpot 77) – Well done, Frédéric! A true story about an American who asked a wise man, "Why can't our politicians find solutions to our societal problems?" The wise man replied, "Society is like a plant that develops according to its own inherent principles. Similarly, society emerges with principles that it will develop over time. Its longevity depends on the purity of its intention. The stem, leaves, and flowers with their fragrances and colors are born, and... eventually, they will wither. Likewise, society develops according to its basic principles, and, like everything relative, the old principles (of growth) have disappeared and been replaced by destruction (purification). Politicians continue with the old principles. Imagine a gardener taking out his paints to refresh the color of his plant. At the base of this plant, new shoots have appeared... new principles." To raise the world's level of consciousness.
Wednesday, October 15, 2014 – Emmanuelle
A few books, two hours of conference and a signing…
And I keep a very beautiful image: the radiant smile of a humble man.
Tuesday, October 14, 2014 – Geneviève St André – Rawdon (Quebec – Canada) – A thank you from Quebec
. Your books are full of inspiring words and wise reflections that deeply touch me. They are a nourishing and invigorating spiritual source, which I am delighted to share with the man who is part of my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Tuesday, October 14, 2014 – Myriame – Sharing
Dear Frédéric, to say nothing after reading your book, * Heart of Crystal*, would be to keep to oneself all the magic of the words, the beauty of the text, but even more so, the rare and precious expression that makes people happy! I will only say this: Thank you, Frédéric!
Saturday, October 11, 2014
– Lisouu – The Soul of the World Thank you, very moving. Lise, 17 years old
Saturday, October 11, 2014 – Christian – Share
Reading "The Soul of the World" has taken me another step closer to knowledge and its light. My words seem inadequate to express all the beauty that emanates from yours. Thank you, Frédéric.
Saturday, October 11, 2014
– Frédérique – Like everyone else, thank you! What else can I say after reading or hearing you? Ah, yes, I have another idea! MORE!
Okay, so, in order: Thank you again, and thank you again!
The rest of the praise can be found on my blog, where I talk about your Little Treatise , which is only little in name and price… Yours sincerely.
Tuesday, October 7, 2014 – Sainte Foy-lès-Lyon – The Soul of the World
Hello Frédéric, I have just finished reading your latest book. I thank you deeply for fighting against obscurantism. Your words help us to persevere and stay the course. The Soul of the World , indeed, needs all souls of goodwill to fight and transform lead into gold… These times of ours demand great courage and great clarity of action. Personally, I am very inspired by the I Ching: wise and strategic… Altruistic and firm. It seems to me that all beings who serve what you call The Soul of the World must today take a strong and determined stand when the political system in which they live allows it. We must DARE TO FIGHT FOR PEACE AND LOVE, deep in our hearts, YES, and IN THE HEART OF OUR ACTIONS. Goodbye. Thank you again. A.SC

– Anne – Thank you. Over a year ago, a complete letting go transformed my life, restoring its meaning and essence… Strangely, in moments of doubt, chance led me to your books, and each time, they awakened me, lifting me higher and higher into this state of inner freedom… Thank you for your gift of speaking to our souls, of awakening them, of guiding them to this state of freedom of being, to the discovery of our own truth, far from the conformist clichés of our society. Thank you for *The Soul of the World*, a true message of ecumenical peace; may it be heard beyond borders, where the source of life is unfortunately still a source of conflict. Finally, thank you for all these reflections that have helped me move forward, discovering a peaceful path, the path of inner happiness…
Monday, October 6, 2014
– Joyce Blazo – “Essence-Heaven” Good evening, Frédéric. Your writings are like a vast ocean of transparency in which it is a pleasure to plunge, to float, for a mineral and crystalline meditation. I mentioned your book, “The Soul of the World,” among others, during my recent exhibition opening at Boscodon Abbey this past Sunday, where I presented my paintings, inviting the audience to meditate on the theme of “gentleness,” essential to so much beauty and depth. As Plato said, “Beauty is the splendor of truth.” Yours sincerely.
Saturday, October 4, 2014 – Nem – Questions about the Little Treatise on Inner Life
Thank you for this lovely summary book. Two questions:
– End of the book: if someone, whoever they may be, wants to display outward signs of wealth because it gives them the feeling (true or false) of being more esteemed (or more self-confidence, or whatever) and, moreover, it doesn't come at anyone's expense… What does it matter? Isn't it ridiculous for others to pay attention to it? Isn't it wiser to look at the person and their worth?
– On the topic of sharing: it's good to pay one's taxes, and it can give one a clear conscience, the feeling of contributing, but… Isn't it necessary to inquire about what is done with it, or even to get involved and prefer to use this money not for personal consumption but to create real jobs for people, restoring their dignity and freedom?
In short, a book on the French concept of equality would be welcome.

– Claire – Ch. Bobin or the flower secretary. A thousand thanks for this new program with Ch. Bobin.
“When the word comes, everything is illuminated… forever…”
“…a wisdom that is impossible to contain, to hold…”
It is always a feast to hear or read him.

– Christine Frédéric, it was by pure chance that I met you a few weeks ago, guided by fate. I was in a state of great psychological distress, and your book, * The Soul of the World*, was a tremendous help to me. Without even having read it completely, from the very first lines I thanked Life a thousand times for placing it in my hands. It is a gift from heaven that I will share with those I love who, like me, still want to believe that life can still love us despite all the suffering around us, because I am a Libra, and very sensitive to the pain of others, whoever they may be. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Frédéric, for writing it.
Friday, September 26, 2014
– Jonayd – Reading Review I just finished reading The Soul of the World … thank you so much, it was very refreshing and inspiring… superb writing… I love you…
Tuesday, September 23, 2014 – Pauline – Thank you.
I simply wanted to thank you for * A Short Treatise on Inner Life *, which I discovered some time ago and which has been very enriching. I reread it and rediscover it with fresh eyes after my first philosophy classes. You introduce concepts that we later cover in class, and I'm very glad I was already familiar with them, unlike my friends. Thank you for making philosophy even more enjoyable and fascinating than it already is.

– Soizic – Thank you , thank you to the humanist that you are for this great moment of wisdom that is your book: The Soul of the World ! I bought it yesterday, absorbed it as if it were a spring, and I intend to share it with my daughters, so deeply did your writing touch me.
Monday, September 15, 2014 – Eléonore – The Subject of Attachment
Hello, your book,
A Short Treatise on Inner Life, is very interesting and, above all, very pragmatic. However, I would like to make a comment regarding the chapter on attachment. Attachment is a problem that affects both material things and human relationships. To understand this, we need to revisit the difference between love and attachment. To love is to appreciate someone, to a greater or lesser degree, solely for who they are. To become attached to someone is to expect something from them to fill a void within ourselves (suffering, fear, desire, etc.). In the first case, the relationship is healthy, and obviously, in the event of loss, we are deeply saddened, but life goes on. In the second case, it is almost certain that the relationship is conflictual since a person cannot constantly give us what we want. In the event of loss, the effect is disastrous… We can more easily understand this difference after experiencing it. Congratulations again on your book.
Tuesday, September 9, 2014 – Eléonore – Discovery…
One August evening, on Earth. My bookshelf, where I found a book I'd bought some time ago. It had been sitting there. Then that evening, I picked it up. Why that particular evening? Because the time was right, I suppose, I was “ready.” The Little Treatise on Inner Life… Wow, what a discovery! Like a guide on the path to self-awareness, a path I began a few years ago. But one on which you can sometimes go in circles, take the wrong turns, or make long stops. No matter, here I am again, on the road to and toward my truth. Armed with readings, reflections, and decisions, and more motivated than ever to continue this journey. So, Frédéric, in a word: thank you. You are one of those things that triggers, or re-triggers, the desire for understanding.
Tuesday, September 9, 2014
– Andy – Thank you! I'm starting to reread The Little Treatise … for the third time, and I wanted to thank you for writing such a wonderful travel companion. During my second reading (which I finished this afternoon), I particularly enjoyed the chapter on humor. I agree that there's no humor in the Bible, but apparently God has a sense of it. In fact, Woody Allen explains how to stimulate it: "If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans."
That's my attempt at sharing. Thank you again…

– Anoushka – “The Return of Roots of Heaven” Hello, magnificent program with Christian Bobin. A marvelous poet's voice. I listened to every word and his bursts of laughter like little sips of life's red zest. And with the creaking of the door, the crackling of the fire, and even the silence of the candles, the darkness of the room, the rustling of the paper, the little birds in the garden, footsteps, and even the delicate wild rose.
The library looked like a small bakery with three hungry children inside…
All of this, in his home… inseparable from this poet and writer whom I love so much.
Thank you so much to you and Leili Anvar for this beautiful program. It swept away a cloud of back-to-school sadness for me, and soon your new books! It's balm for the heart, hope in this world. Joy! Bravo!

– Viator – A short review of “The Angel's Promise” and “The Lost Word” Hello Mr. Lenoir, quite late in reading your works (relative to their publication dates), I just finished “The Lost Word” after reading “The Angel's Promise ,” on the recommendation of someone I met at a wedding.
Please allow me to sincerely thank you, as well as Ms. Violette Cabesos, for these few hours spent in the company of the characters you created, in places I have had the opportunity to visit several times in my free time.
Quite simply, as I am only a casual reader of literature and history, I offer you my observations.
I started reading well, but my interest waned somewhat in the chapters concerning the history of Christianity as told by the Benedictine monk Roman to Moira. This might be because I was already familiar with most of these elements, which, although a bit lengthy, are nonetheless helpful for understanding the story.
On the other hand, I later found the pacing perfectly suited to my tastes, neither too slow nor too fast. Each evening it was a real pleasure to pick up the book again. The description of life at Mont Saint-Michel is remarkable, and even more so that of Vézelay (in both cases, I enjoyed comparing the details of the story with my own memories and other historical and geographical texts).
As for the characters, apart from Johanna, who is in a class of her own, I particularly liked Livia (for her courage) and Brother Pacifique (for his calm and clear judgment).
To end on a less serious note (which isn't entirely certain), thank you very much for all your references to oenological heritage.
I have tasted all the wines and spirits you mention, with the exception of "Lacryma Christi," a gap I will try to fill soon, thanks to you.
With my sincere thanks, I send you my warmest regards.
Friday, September 5, 2014 – Mateo – Link between discovery and "The Healing of the World"
I'm currently devouring the book "The Healing of the World" and I came across an article about a political vision linked to civil society that I've rarely seen and which reminds me of the book's direction. So I'm taking the liberty of sharing the article in question: http://r-eveillez-vous.fr/democratie-evolutive/
Looking forward to continuing to read and to seeing you on France Culture.

Simply, thank you!
Wednesday, August 20, 2014 – Denis Benoit – Mouans-Sartoux (06) – Consciousness, hypnosis, meditation (Roustang, André, Midal…)
Hello Frédéric, I have carefully listened and re-listened (…and re-listened) to the broadcasts with François Roustang “Le renonement à soi”, from October 21, 2012, and “Socrates, shaman or philosopher?”, from March 23, 2010 (rebroadcast this July). The thesis of this (particularly remarkable) therapist and philosopher is (in two words) the following: when we are feeling bad, it is in no way “Know thyself”, the famous gnôthi seauton (attributed to Socrates, but which Roustang interprets in a very particular way, in complete rupture with common sense), which allows us to feel better. On the contrary, it is about leaving words, intellect, "reflection", thought, "understanding", "consciousness", etc., in short, everything that concerns the "self", aside to (re)immerse oneself in "life". And, for Roustang, it is hypnosis - as he defines and practices it, in a very personal way - which allows this leap: it is about letting go of "consciousness" to be fully present to the complex experience of life. According to Roustang, hypnosis is not an "altered state of consciousness" but "a state of generalized confusion".
Now, you ask F. Roustang the question of whether his practice (and his theory) has links with Eastern thought and meditation. He replies that this is indeed the case. Indeed, the current of "mindfulness meditation" - but also, more generally, that of meditation - also advocates leaving aside words and thoughts to dive "directly" into the experience of life. What interests me (to the highest degree) are the (probably) close links between F. Roustang's hypnotic therapy and this current of "mindfulness" (and what is generally called "meditation"). But see the apparent contradiction in terms: for one, it is about leaving "consciousness" and for the other, establishing it (reestablishing it)... My question: when will there be a (or several...) broadcast(s) on this theme? (denis.benoit.univ@gmail.com)
Tuesday, August 19, 2014 – Virginie – Thank you,
Frédéric, a huge thank you for your books, overflowing with culture, and the wonderful moments I spend in their company! I discovered you through the book " God," which was recommended to me, being a practicing Catholic. I am 32 years old, a mother, and a happily married woman. A music teacher and modest concert performer, I am a harpsichordist by training. Passionate about 18th- century and human relationships, I teach with joy. Until now, my reading was limited to art books, musicological works, or non-fiction, but certainly not philosophical ones. I was impressed by the ease with which I devoured this first book, as simple as it was rich. I then explored your bibliography and just as easily devoured "Jesus," "Socrates ," " On Happiness," "Healing ," and so on, and I intend to continue. It's a revelation, the kind one cherishes in life. You clarified a multitude of intuitions and feelings, across many different areas, that I had within me, but which my lack of philosophical background prevented me from expressing clearly (and frankly, I'm not sure I'm being clear). And what a joy it was to chat with friends, to be able to elevate the discussion (it sounds pretentious, but that's not what I mean), and to have relevant contributions. Your call for humility in happiness sparked a great conversation with my main concert partner, allowing us to move forward in reflecting on our work together and especially our teaching (it's much more effective than hours of rehearsals...). Similarly, your call for responsibility in healing the world strengthened and further motivated me in my (modest) desire to change certain things. Your readings boost the optimism and happiness that I hope to carry within me and, above all, share with those around me. I write this not to flatter you, but with great sincerity, because I think (in all my simplicity) that one of the biggest flaws is not daring to say things.
Monday, August 18, 2014 – Gabb – THANK YOU! 🙂 )))
I discovered you through *The Soul of the World *, and I can only thank you sincerely and deeply.
You simply express the essence of my most recent "discoveries" in spirituality, those that open us to the world and to others, those that have helped to unveil the true inner Joy that each of us carries within. An essential step in the fulfillment of each individual. Like a precious gift, I will give your book to my dearest friends, wishing them the same Happiness that now fills me. For the revelation of all these suns, and for what you will continue to do, I can only say THANK YOU! 🙂 )))
Friday, August 15, 2014 – Anabelle – Thank you.
I discovered *The Soul of the World * last year and it's now my bedside book; this reading has been enriched by * Happiness…* and *A Short Treatise on Inner Life *. Your books express what I felt or "knew" at 20, but which the rush of life made me forget. I join your other readers in thanking you for sharing your knowledge and philosophy with us.
Tuesday, August 12, 2014 – Higgs68 – Regarding your two books
Good evening, Sir, after reading * How Jesus Became God* , which I found thrilling and which I devoured in two days, so many discoveries did I seem to make concerning the history of Christianity, I have just finished * Christ the Philosopher* , which I enjoyed just as much.
Special mention for the epilogue of this latter work, in which I found, in a way, a beautiful summary of my own Christian faith. Yes, the message of Christ, distorted or misrepresented for centuries by official authorities, is revolutionary and relevant today. I completely share your analysis of chapter 4 of the Gospel of John, where Jesus delivers to a simple Samaritan woman one of the most extraordinary messages in the entire New Testament. Thank you for your remarkable work…
Tuesday, August 5, 2014 – Anne Montillot (Carry-le-Rouet, 13) – A Short Treatise on Inner Life.
My gaze fell upon your book, the last copy found on a shelf. It was meant for me, and I perceived it as a sign inviting me to take it home. I immersed myself in reading it, during this turbulent period of my life, and each page was a step toward knowledge and the healing of my soul. Peace, serenity, and confidence increasingly reside within me. It is a door that has opened onto inner truth and understanding. I am sharing this book with everyone around me so that they, in turn, may approach a path that unfolds through reading it. The school education we receive should begin from our earliest years with these teachings, and the world would be a less suffering place. Mr. Lenoir, you are a wonderful messenger, and through your experience and your journey, you allow us to glimpse certain doors on our own path. Thank you again for sharing with us.
Friday, August 1, 2014 – Philippe – New Age
Frédéric Lenoir, in “New Keys”
“The essential problem with syncretism in its current and/or theosophical form is that the ontological foundations of the traditions have been deliberately omitted because the spiritual ground is demanding… The Spirit is not content to ride the wave; it desires to go deeper, to re-cognize the roots of the beautiful tree and its fruits…”
The other major problem is the confusion between spiritual activity and lucrative activity… Everything is connected, but not everything is equal!
And whatever the “good intention,” that is not the point (that’s a personal development adage) where there is only an objective of improving well-being and in no case a desire for transcendence. The goal is indeed: "the opening of consciousness" to what we are, as Socrates reminds us… Without transcendence, there is no spirituality (which is obviously not limited to noble traditions). Instead, we are engulfed in a jumble where confusion reigns supreme!
Thursday, July 24, 2014 – Papadoudou Diouf (Bordeaux, 33) – Thank you!
Hello Sir, I simply wanted to thank you for sharing your experience in *A Short Treatise on Inner Life *. This book helped me so much during times of doubt and depression. Sometimes a book can help you when others fail to offer support… I look forward to discovering your other works and thank you from the bottom of my heart for who you are. Sincerely.

– Zaza (Montigny-lès-Metz, 57) – Thrillers Good evening, as a regular at secondhand bookstores, I stumbled upon your book *L'oracle della Luna *. I first read the summary and thought, "I'm going to like this..." I opened the book that same evening and couldn't put it down... I devoured it. I then moved on to * La parole perdue *, and it was just as wonderful!! Now all I have to do is find * La promesse de l'ange *, the icing on the cake. The books are captivating, gripping, and educational. I knew you as a philosopher, having read * Petit traité de vie intérieure *, and I watch you on the show "C'est dans l'air" on France 5, and there, by chance, I discovered another side of the writer. I'm eager to discover more thrillers... Best regards

– Catherine – Faroe Islands and Carnage Dear Frédéric, I listened to your program about animals today. I wanted to share an observation that is interesting for us, unfortunately not for the marine animals of Danish waters. I spent six weeks in the Faroe Islands and witnessed a whale hunt with horror one day in July. I subsequently read local articles that were against this ritual hunt. Living through this day, which raises (even) more questions about humanity and its relationship with nature, I realized that if you look at the statistics of Faroese hunts since the last century, the number of animals killed is much higher in recent years (more than 180 in one day when I was there), and this is not at all "normal," and it is sparking protests among young Danes. And do you know what gives these hunts such a terrible scale? The mobile phone!!! At the beginning of the century, when a few whales were sighted, the island's fishermen would take their harpoons and kill a smaller number of cetaceans. But today, and I witnessed this surge, when a pod is announced, people grab their phones and call indiscriminately. As a result, men get into their vehicles, take the ferry, and all gather at point X… A “madness” that suddenly seems to erupt in these peaceful, sheep-like worlds, creating a frenzy that culminates in a massacre that is no longer “normalized” but senseless and pointless. I still have vivid images of this carnage and still feel sad and helpless. Have a good week, and thank you to you and Ms. Anvar.
Thursday, June 26, 2014 – Véronique – Comment:
I just finished reading *How Jesus Became God* , which I found fascinating. A Catholic by tradition and upbringing, and an atheist for 40 years, I rediscovered expressions of faith from my childhood that I had repeated at Mass for 17 years without truly understanding their linguistic and canonical meaning.
Before reading your book, I read * History of the Jews* , which covers Jewish history from 1000 BC to the fifth century AD, and your two books together form a fascinating overview of the evolution of the three monotheistic religions. Having studied Western medieval history (400 AD to 1400 AD) at the University of York (UK), I was unfamiliar with Middle Eastern history for the same period, and your book and Schama's filled many gaps in my knowledge. I particularly liked your comment after the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD, that the Pharisees went west and the Jewish Christians east. When will we see a comparative study of Christianity and Islam?

– Sylvie – The Soul of the World Hello Mr. Lenoir, your book The Soul of the World was given to me by one of my best friends, and after reading it, I can say it's one of the most beautiful gifts I've ever received. Your words have enriched me, helped me grow, moved me, made me think, and even sometimes brought me to tears, so deeply did they touch me with happiness and love. I take great pleasure in rereading passages often. Your words are with me. I, in turn, gave The Soul of the World to a loved one, like a spiritually charged relay to pass on. My sincere thanks.

– Jac (Alsace) – The Oracle of the Moon: Bravo for this beautiful work! I was captivated by this story and learned so many
details and explanations about religions. I eagerly await the next novel. Thank you for these wonderful evenings in your company.
Saturday, June 14, 2014 – Catherine – The Promise and The Word
Hello Sir, I have just reread The Angel's Promise and The Lost Word . I am once again captivated by both your stories and the places I know (except Pompeii). I (re)discovered the places and the characters with new details and sensations. When will the sequel be available? I know that mythical and mystical places like these are not common, but…
Thank you to you and Madame Cabesos.
Monday, June 9, 2014 – Anoushka – Novels
Hello, I first discovered your work as a philosopher. Your novels are so beautiful. The Oracle of the Moon , a moving and magnificent epic. The Angel's Promise , after some hesitation, to my great surprise, captivating, strange, unsettling. Mont Saint-Michel is truly a magical place. I realized that Christian sites I had passed through—even seemingly insignificant ones, by chance—have surprisingly marked my life. In fact, I hadn't read a novel in ages, let alone a thriller! Brrr… The Secret , a marvel… After closing this book, I burst into tears. That hadn't happened to me since Sand's "La Petite Fadette," which I read at thirteen. The tree on the cover is from one of my favorite paintings.
These novels are extraordinary, unforgettable, true and vibrant, and contain flashes of beautiful poetry. They contain just as much philosophy, spirituality, and wisdom as your other works… A difficult life, five years of psychotherapy… a little tai chi, yoga, art, and always nature… Currently experiencing a spiritual crisis, searching for my path, I've been somewhat torn between Buddhism, which I discovered nine years ago, and Christianity, which I rediscovered later in life following a small event in the summer of 2012. So your diverse books are, for me, enlightening reads, a precious source of reflection, discovery, peace, and joy on my journey. I eagerly await more books. Thank you for all this happiness. A haiku for you:
Black cat on the wall,
floating daffodil path,
enchanted hovel
I really like the pictures on your new blog.
Have a great holiday and a wonderful summer.

– Jean-Jacques Perinaud – Happiness HAPPINESS ? HAPPINESS! Yes, thank you for this beautiful book that cares for the reader with kindness and respect, allowing them to discover the happiness we all carry within ourselves. Of course, it's not easy for everyone to access it! But this book helps show the way and delivers an optimistic message: we can all achieve it.

– Audo Beautiful new site! Lively, airy, it takes the mind on a journey…
I am discovering Indian philosophy through your show with Leili which, as always, allows us to pause for a moment, listen, learn and reflect a little in a daily life that sometimes goes a little too fast… Thank you all.

– Laurence – Short Message Hello Frédéric, I discovered you on a well-known program, "La Parenthèse Inattendue" (The Unexpected Interlude), and I decided to read your work. Incidentally, I too would love to invite you over to listen to you speak. I'm not exactly a walking encyclopedia, but you surprised me, and even that's not the word I meant to use. In fact, I'm not very good at expressing myself. Anyway, I admire your background and your journey, and listening to you, I'm captivated by the calm and wisdom you exude. I just finished reading " Petit Traité de Vie Intérieure" (A Short Treatise on Inner Life) . You enriched my soul; I loved it and learned so much, and I'm going to try to apply the things that resonate with me. Now, I'm going to read " La Promise de l'Ange" (The Angel's Promise ).

– Viviane Hello Frédéric, after years and years of inner searching (I'm 57), your books are a breath of fresh air with your simple words and their very structured composition (it sums up a bit of my experience and also my expectations of a world that seems to be made up mostly of children or teenagers). Sometimes you slip in interesting snippets of your personal life.
Your novels are delightful. Your high media profile is beneficial for all those who aren't lucky enough to be readers…
The world needs true philosophers like you to help it "heal," to bring it "happiness"!!…

– Sophie – On Happiness, a Philosophical Journey. I am currently at a point in my life where everything is about to change. I have been writing a lot to ease my thoughts. I wasn't familiar with your work, and the book "On Happiness, a Philosophical Journey" appealed to me. I read it with great pleasure because I recognized much of my own way of living and being. I haven't pursued higher education, nor have I ever studied philosophy, but I believe that happiness can be innate and that when we are fortunate enough to be fundamentally happy, problems are less burdensome. Reading your work has brought me much comfort and helps me move forward with my projects. Thank you.

– Pyl Hello Mr. Lenoir, I have read several of your books, including * The Healing of the World* and *Socrates, Jesus, Buddha *. I find your works remarkable; they are a great pleasure to read. I admire your work and hope that you will continue to share your knowledge and your open-mindedness with us for a long time to come. Thank you.

– Danielle – Lemps (07) – Thank you for your book, A Short Treatise on Inner Life – Part 1 of the message. I listen to Europe 1 radio, and it was on Dr. Jean-François Lemoine's show, "Why Doctor?", in which you participated several times, that I discovered you.
Without knowing what you looked like, I was struck by the calm, gentleness, serenity, and confidence that emanated from your words. You also mentioned the publication of your book, "A Short Treatise on Inner Life," in paperback, which I wanted to read. I only buy paperbacks because they fit my budget and also allow me to annotate them, to underline certain passages, a habit from my school days. I just turned the last page, and I enjoyed it very much. It seems to me that everyone is familiar with what you write. We know it, more or less well, intellectually; the most difficult thing, I think, is putting it into practice.
Everything seems so clear and obvious: trust in life, which reminds me of a quote from Seneca, an author you refer to several times in your book: "If you want life to smile upon you, first bring it your good humor." Don't become attached to material possessions, and above all, don't believe that owning them will make you happier—quite the opposite.
It's also comforting (at least for me) when you say that we shouldn't feel guilty about owning things (a house, for example) and that it's also our duty to take care of them. It's true that we sometimes tend to feel guilty, but the essential thing is not to make them an end in themselves, but a means to live more peacefully. I'm also relieved to see that there's no need to suffer, to practice asceticism or abstinence to be rewarded, to have the right to happiness. Like you, I used to think you had to be "a bit" masochistic to achieve happiness, to suffer first in order to be rewarded later (perhaps a remnant of my Christian upbringing), but it's true that you feel bad...
Friday, May 16, 2014 – Danielle – Lemps (07) – Thank you for your literal "Little Treatise on Inner Life – Part 2"
... in complete asceticism, constantly under tension, constantly paying attention.
I also share your opinion on the difficulty of not becoming attached to the people we love and appreciate, as the Buddhist message would have it (the impermanence of things). Concretely, as a human being, I don't think, unfortunately, that it's possible to feel nothing. I write "unfortunately" because being sensitive in our world today is far from being a virtue and causes a lot of suffering. I too often have the impression that human beings are comparable to crabs in a trap, the biggest, the toughest climbing on top of the weakest to survive... It would be better to be a machine, heartless, that doesn't ask questions, that goes its own way without worrying about what's happening around it!
Your words also touched on all those little things that bring so much joy, and especially the importance of nature, where I increasingly find comfort and serenity, far from the turmoil of the modern world, which I understand less and less and find too harsh and cruel…
I reread this message and realize it's not very well structured. I wanted to express all my joy and sincere gratitude for your book.

– Awakening – Give an opinion I really liked Happiness, a philosophical journey and the Little Treatise on Inner Life which allow one to reflect on the meaning of life and to progress spiritually by setting positive goals.
Tuesday, May 13, 2014
– Nathalie – Arigato Thank you for accompanying me on my journey through your writings…
Monday, May 12, 2014 – Jean-Luc – Note:
Hello, I read *Christ the Philosopher* . It's a good clarification of the difference between religion and spirituality. But it doesn't explain what spirituality is. Christ, at least in his Gospels, doesn't explain anything specific and remains very vague. I'm also very surprised by your lack of knowledge about Eastern spirituality, thinking that monotheism is absent from it. That's a big mistake. The East didn't wait for the Jews to speak of a supreme personal God. You only need to read the Bhagavad Gita to be sure of that. The only originality of Judaism at the time was its advocacy of an exclusive, fanatical monotheism (that's clearly the mark of the egocentric Western mind). Which is precisely what Jesus denounces.
Monday, May 12, 2014 – Annie (Toulouse) – A Discovery
I am deeply moved by what you share. I use "A Little Treatise on Inner Life," which is always with me; whenever I'm waiting (for an appointment, a bus, etc.), I have it in front of me. My little "spiel" will join the others, and like the others, I want to believe that mine is more sincere, more powerful… in short, that you will attach more importance to it.
Ultimately, it doesn't matter; the essential thing is that I can say thank you for the good times I spend "with you," and also for the time I spend with myself thanks to you.
Have a good and beautiful day, Mr. Lenoir.

– A philanthropic… therapeutic… work… Dear Frédéric, you have changed my life. A thousand thanks for writing to us with such intelligence and heart.
Monday, April 28, 2014 – Jenny – Thank you.
Like many others, I didn't know you at all. I was pleasantly surprised to discover you on another Frédéric's fabulous show, "La Parenthèse Inattendue" (The Unexpected Interlude). You intrigued me, making me curious to know who you were. You amazed me with your ease in expressing things felt deep within, and you soothed me with your words. I was an avid reader as a teenager, but with busy life, I no longer find the time, or I don't make the time for it… But now I've decided, I'm running to the bookstore to find Happiness. All this to say a huge thank you for existing and for bringing this peace simply by watching and listening to you. Stay just as you are. Thank you.

– Gabriel (gflapointe@gmail.com) – Montreal Hello Mr. Lenoir, I have just finished reading your "A Short Treatise on the History of Religions" and I must say that I admire your work. It is exactly the kind of reading I was looking for to stimulate my thinking. I agree with your analytical perspective, which, in my opinion, does justice to the phenomena and institutions you describe while making them accessible. I particularly liked your conclusion, which expressed even more clearly what I myself had sensed about the evolution of religions, the religious, and God. It is a book that has enriched me, and for that, I thank you. I also read "Socrates, Jesus, and Buddha" 3-4 years ago, and I really enjoyed the way it connected these themes. I actually lent this book to my aunt, who grew up in the Catholic Quebec environment of the 1950s but later began exploring other religions, such as Buddhism, which she describes as the one that resonates most with her. In any case, I think she'll benefit from it. So thank you and best of luck!

– Frédérique – A Short Treatise on Inner Life Hello, two years ago, one of my daughters bought Psychologies magazine and gave me a little booklet that came with it: "A Short Treatise on Inner Life" – Psychologies Favorites. I left this little booklet on my nightstand for a long time, but I didn't read it. I then put it away in my bookcase without reading it. I don't know why. I went through a long period without wanting to read.
This morning, I still don't know why, I went to my bookcase and picked up this little booklet with excerpts from "A Short Treatise on Inner Life ." I discovered a wonderful summary of the path to inner peace, which allows one to experience happiness. I've seen you on television sometimes, Frédéric Lenoir, and I had already noticed your kindness. Kindness isn't the primary quality of people who appear in the media in general, so I notice them. It seems to me that you possess a deep faith. That's also the blessing I have today after a long period of skepticism. For a long time, my experiences and events made me doubt the greatness of humanity. Around the age of 10, I cried in catechism class when I saw what had been done to Jesus of Nazareth, who was so good to others. I didn't understand why, as a little girl. I understood much later. After that, I didn't understand why women and men, even in my family, could hurt me so much. It took me many years to understand and to forgive them as well. That was the hardest part: forgiving those who didn't see or understand that they were hurting me.
Today, after a long inner journey… I have the great blessing of being at peace and happy. So, I must thank all those who have helped me get to this point, and there are many of them. Congratulations also to you, Frédéric Lenoir, for writing such beautiful things.
Friday, April 25, 2014 – Alexis – Thank you!
Discovered in "The Unexpected Interlude," you managed to get a sportsman and rationalist like me to read a book, and a philosophical one at that (A Short Treatise on Inner Life), and above all, to enjoy it. It will help me a lot. Simply thank you; you can be proud of what you do. Best of luck.
Monday, April 21, 2014 – Cécile – THANK YOU Thank you Frédéric for your books, a source of happiness. I offer your books as an outstretched hand through your words... towards the quest for happiness, for enlightenment, for a star... for smiles, for beauty... a beautiful gesture... that I owe you... with all my sincere friendship.
Sunday, April 20, 2014 – Anoushka – Francis, the Springtime of the Gospel
Dear Mr. Lenoir, I was also very pleasantly surprised and delighted by the election of this new Pope, whose great humanity and natural simplicity are already palpable. As soon as I saw him, I thought to myself, I really like Pope Francis's face. I haven't read the Gospels, you know, but I realized while reading them that I've been reading them through you for a long time, and that made me laugh with joy. You quote many passages to convey the essential message of Francis's pontificate, and one can feel all the energy of your heart. I find myself dreaming of a meeting between His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, as well as other great sages from various religions, and Pope Francis. Wow! Life has been rather difficult for me, and it's mainly artistic activity, reading, and music that have sustained me and broadened my horizons. I don't usually go to church, but recently I went to see an exhibition of Fra Angelico from Florence in a church. I only go occasionally to see an exhibition or a concert. Oh, but I did want to attend midnight mass two years ago, drawn by the beautiful ringing of the bells. I needed joy, warmth, just for a moment… I slipped into a frozen crowd… the opening words of the sermon were cold and somber, about sins, and so on. A heavy, long discourse. I thought I must have the wrong address, the wrong house, that God must be outside at the door, and I went back out into the street, as discreetly as I had entered. But God was indeed in each of those people standing there; it's just that the embers in their hearts seemed a little extinguished, the breath of the Gospel was missing from the ashes. You know the story of Saint Francis of Assisi and the almond tree… Pope Francis is already communicating the clarity that revives, breaks the ice, unfurling the inspiring wave for all… Thank you for your works, for your gaze and your smile.
Saturday, April 19, 2014 – Marie Anne – Thank you.
After a professional experience during which I almost lost myself, I decided to refocus on what's essential. Admittedly, I left my job, but I found myself again, and that's priceless. Like you, I have strong convictions and I see my work as a calling, but the world of work in which I practice it has become very harsh, and I believe it's my role as a Human Resources professional to bring a bit of cohesion and humanity back into the company's productive machinery in order to create a virtuous circle: more humanity, for greater efficiency, for greater productivity. But this requires time, and time is the lifeblood of business. You have to know how to say no, and opposing something risks being excluded at any moment. You have to know how to be diplomatic, politically astute, but without abandoning your values. Under the guise of integration, I wanted to conform; under the guise of good relations, I almost forgot the meaning I gave to my profession. For fear of being excluded, I remained silent for a while, but I had the courage to reclaim my freedom. In the current climate, our profession can easily be destructive. As the guardian of two potentially contradictory values, I've lost count of the number of damaged HR professionals around me, but I've also been fortunate enough to meet some who persevered because they knew how to protect themselves. Your Treatise on Inner Life puts the essentials into perspective. We must know how to take care of ourselves, to take time for ourselves in a world where we're not given any; we must know how to demand that time. I also greatly enjoyed reconnecting with the philosophy of my 18-year-old self. You also put words to my understanding of Catholicism; yes, one can be a believer, even a practicing one, and not share everything. Thank you for this breath of freedom. Keep it up.
Thursday, April 17, 2014 – Nadine – Reconciliation with Reading and a Part of Myself
Hello, I received your book, The Soul of the World, as a Christmas gift. I confess, I'm not a very avid reader. The book sat in my bedside drawer for quite some time—weeks, even months. I'm an almost-ordinary woman: a family, a job, and I'm generally satisfied with my life. I have one particular flaw, among others, that I can't seem to shake: excessive honesty, and I can't pretend. This prevents me from thriving at work and somewhat affects my personal life: I hold to certain principles and values that my management doesn't share. In short, I spend a lot of time in meetings that I find counterproductive because, in the end, we spend more time criticizing what others do or don't do than discussing improvements we could make. It's tedious, especially since I make it clear that I don't agree with this practice. Furthermore, managers (I'm speaking for myself) have a remarkable ability to transform their own mistakes, or those of the team, into near-successes. I feel uneasy five days out of seven. I could change employers, but I just did, a year ago. Last week, I tidied my drawer and looked at your book for a long time before opening it. Reading your book came at just the right time: a moment when I was asking myself a lot of questions and taking stock of my life. Reading this book has reconciled me with reading and with myself. This book has truly brought me all the peace of mind I needed. It's your book, and I wanted to share all the good it has done me. I wish you all the best. Sincerely.
Sunday, April 13, 2014 – LiliBee – The Unexpected Interlude
Hello everyone, I'm also responding to "The Unexpected Interlude," a program where the true nature of the guests is revealed… it's all the more telegenic because it's rooted in a deep self-awareness and reflection, of course, but especially on human mechanisms. Frédéric Lenoir, speaking about his father, or rather his father's unconscious reflex to undermine him, used the psychoanalytic term "paradoxical injunction"... a real eye-opener… Thank you for exploring the intricacies of human nature to help us navigate this strange existence!
Sunday, April 13, 2014 – Dominique – Belgium
Hello! A strange encounter during Frédéric Lopez's program, an unexpected interlude... unexpected it certainly was for me when you shared your encounter with the Bible, with the Gospel… you had barely begun to speak when I started to shiver, my hair stood on end, and I began to cry… I knew what you had encountered; I encountered the same hope. I don't have the same opportunities as you to meet people of other faiths, but I know that the Gospel inspires me to be interested in others and to respect differences. Thank you for sharing all of this with us! And a very happy Easter.
Friday, April 11, 2014 – Alexandra (alexandra.bartoli2a@orange.fr) – Meditation
I had the opportunity to listen to you on Ruquier's show "On n'est pas couché" and I enjoyed you. But where I really appreciated you was on "La Parenthèse inattendue." A wonderful show. Frédéric Lopez brings together people with different life paths; they share their stories with emotion and sincerity, I think, and it's simply fantastic. I try not to miss this show, which moves me, makes me think, and can inspire me. And listening to you, I simply feel like meditating. I know it's hard when you do it alone, but I think it's worth trying. Your journey is simply remarkable, and I'm going to discover your book now that I've gotten to know you a little. I like to listen and understand. Connection is essential for me in a world that is, despite everything, selfish and intolerant. I hope to see you soon.
Wednesday, April 9, 2014 – Sonia – Let's be original: thank you!
Yet another testimonial on this page for your participation in the program "La parenthèse Inattendue" (The Unexpected Interlude), which I watched twice because there was so much to hear. I already knew you through many of your books, and I've contacted you before, but this time I was able to listen to you. I would echo some readers in saying that after watching the program, I felt at peace; I recognized myself, half in Amel Bent's journey and half in yours. This interlude was rich in lessons and positive because it offered hope for a better life, provided we persevere and keep searching for ourselves. I hope to eventually find myself; in any case, this program has proven to me that it's possible. So, for all of this and for sharing your journey… thank you

Hello, I saw you on F. Lopez's show "La parenthèse inattendue" (The Unexpected Interlude), which allowed me to get to know you better and discover your philosophy of life and happiness. Like the guests who accompanied you, you showed us that we create our own lives and that we all possess potential to develop and express. The path you have already traveled is rich in humanity, beautiful encounters, and experiences, and indeed, "paradise is other people." It's up to each of us to want it.
Wednesday, April 9, 2014 – Marie-Antoinette – Thank you.
Hello Frédéric, I simply wanted to thank you for the wonderful books you write. I myself have done a little bit of this work of self-discovery, and your books help me even more on this path. I also saw the program "Entre parenthèse que du bonheur" (Between Parentheses, Pure Happiness), and it makes me really want to meet you. What I would like today is to meet people who have walked even just a part of this path and who know that happiness lies deep within each of us and who share it! Today I want to introduce you to others, and I will simply allow those who don't know you to discover you, because you are a beautiful person who deserves to be known. Thank you for what you unknowingly give, for helping your readers move forward. Have a wonderful day, and may life hold many more beautiful things for you.

Hello, I have just finished reading *A Short Treatise on the Inner Life *, which my granddaughter gave me for my 69th birthday. I simply wanted to thank you for writing it; it is both simple and accessible to a wide audience, yet also imbued with great sincerity. It wasn't easy to include personal anecdotes, and I greatly appreciated how you managed it. I would like to recommend, if you are not already familiar with it, a little-known book by my friend Bruno Latour, also a Catholic: * Jubiler, ou les tourments de la parole religieuse* (Rejoicing, or the Torments of Religious Speech), published in 2002 by Les empêcheurs de penser en rond / Le Seuil. That's all, thank you again for the enjoyable reading experience you provided. I will recommend this little guide to those around me… Sincerely, AM, sociologist, honorary research director at the CNRS, Catholic (not very practicing)
Tuesday, April 8, 2014 – Isabelle La ptite chouette – Pleasure of the Senses
I've read your work, listened to your music, and seen your videos, and it's been pure joy every time. You know how to address life's challenges and share your perspective with others, which allows us to understand, move forward, and grow. I appreciate you very much; you inspire me to explore my inner self a little more each day. I have a wish: please write us a meditation manual. I'm sure you'll bring joy to many more people. Thank you, Frédéric!

After reading several of your books, I discovered you in "The Unexpected Interlude." What a beautiful moment of sharing and listening… Simple things, accessible to all… What a joy… Your books have guided me and allowed me to navigate life more serenely, and for that I wanted to thank you…
Monday, April 7, 2014 – unetazdecafe – Thank you!
I had already heard of you. I discovered you in Frédéric Lopez's "Unexpected Interlude" this week. I recognized myself in you; your words touched me…Thank you! I'm now eager to immerse myself in reading your books…
Sunday, April 6, 2014 – Nathalie – Serenity
Hello, I watched and listened to you on the program "La Parenthèse inattendue" (The Unexpected Interlude), and I enjoyed it very much. I've read your books, and it made me want to reread " Petit traité de vie intérieure" (A Short Treatise on Inner Life ). You do a lot of good. Thank you.
Sunday, April 6, 2014 – Thierry
You are a beautiful person, and having you as a friend must already contribute to happiness.
Saturday, April 5, 2014 – Brigitte – The Roots of Heaven
Good evening, I've just discovered your website… I'm taking this opportunity to thank you warmly for your program on France Culture. I never miss an episode. And even better, I regularly listen to them again as podcasts (technology has its advantages, too). Thank you again.
Friday, April 4, 2014 – Quikounette – The Unexpected Interlude
I've been a fan of yours ever since reading *A Little Treatise on Inner Life* , which I've already given to at least 10 people I know, and which really helped me take my first steps on the path to zen. I've started * Happiness, a Philosophical Journey *, which you signed for me at FNAC… and I'm making steady progress on the path to Joy. As you so aptly put it, "I don't succeed every day," but I persevere with determination. Already appreciating you greatly for the serenity and joy of living that you radiate and that shine through in your writing, and which I felt when we chatted at the book signing… the unexpected interlude was, in fact, a welcome and delightful one for me… I was delighted to rediscover your simplicity, your ability to convey the essential with simple, precise words that resonate deeply. Thank you to Frédéric Lopez for the excellent idea of inviting you. I now know more about you, and you have surprised me once again with your unique journey. You have quite a destiny! Thank you for sharing it with us. I greatly appreciated your few words about Pope Francis. And thank you for your radiant smile, which I recognized in the photo on the cover of your book on Happiness. I hope to have the same one someday…
Friday, April 4, 2014 – Corinne – Acknowledgments
About two years ago, following one of your lectures at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, I met a man with a sharp mind and without an inflated ego. This was confirmed on this week's television program, "La parenthèse inattendue" (The Unexpected Interlude). It was very pleasant. Thank you for giving us, through your books, keys to accessing happiness, in particular, the ability to know ourselves well and then choose the life that suits us (which is what I try to practice). Thank you also for inspiring me, through, for example, your book * Du bonheur, un voyage philosophique* (On Happiness, a Philosophical Journey ), to rediscover the writings of Epicurus, Spinoza, and Montaigne. In conclusion, you are a true ray of sunshine, full of love and compassion for others. Thank you, Frédéric.

– Marj. – Nothing… except that while strolling in Uccle, passing by a café window, I noticed a small chalkboard. The kind our grandparents used in school. And it said: “No Wi-Fi here: we talk live.” That warms the heart and makes you think… :-) Best regards
Friday, April 4, 2014 – PurpleHeart68 – Geneva (Switzerland) – Observation…
I have been reading you regularly since 2004 and your investigation, with Marie-France Etchegoin, into Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code … Some people around me have mentioned your "performance" on "La parenthèse inattendue" (The Unexpected Interlude), which supposedly helps well-known personalities give birth to their souls. I am delighted that public television is helping to introduce you to other potential readers, and happy at the prospect of sharing your commitments and your teachings with them… It restores my faith in a certain kind of television!
Friday, April 4, 2014 – Violette – The Unexpected Interlude Program
During the program "The Unexpected Interlude," I discovered your story, which deeply moved me, and the way you spoke about it, as if you were a little out of sorts, experiencing yet another depressive episode. Your testimony was comforting, and I appreciated how you listened to the other guests (who were also very nice!). I recently received your book, " On Happiness, a Philosophical Journey ," as a gift. I will read it with great interest. Thank you 🙂
Friday, April 4, 2014 – Nathalie – A Lifesaver
Hello, I didn't know you and stumbled upon you on the show "La parenthèse inattendue" (The Unexpected Interlude). What a pleasure to listen to you! The simplicity and well-being you radiate are contagious! This morning my curiosity led me to your website and I'm listening to your talk on happiness… You put words to everything I've always felt, it's moving… I regret not having known you sooner and I think I'm going to devour all your books…! If all human beings could be infected by the common sense and love you share, that would be… Happiness! Thank you for brightening my day!
Thursday, April 3, 2014 – Jacquie – A Brief Interlude
I rarely watch TV, and last night while channel surfing, I stumbled upon "The Unexpected Interlude," on which you were one of the three guests. I was deeply moved by the program. I read your books, which are a great help to me on my spiritual journey. And of course, I hung on your every word last night. I really enjoyed the other two guests, including Jean Reno, whose sensitivity we discovered, and Amel Bent, this young singer who is so fresh and natural. With your three guests, I can say that I watched a high-quality program on TV that captivated me, the kind we unfortunately rarely see… Frédéric, I simply wanted to say thank you… After the show, I felt a gentle warmth wash over me, which is perhaps simply the feeling of true love… I remember your closing line: "Paradise is other people," and I truly want to absorb it… Thank you…
Thursday, April 3, 2014 – Mauricette – Saint Jouin Bruneval (76) – Gratitude.
I discovered you 10 years ago. Your book, "The Angel's Promise," captivated me, and I returned to Mont Saint-Michel, hired a guide, etc. Since then, I've devoured your books. The only thing I can't seem to do is meditate… I can't seem to let go of my thoughts… You must write a manual for beginners on meditation… Thank you again.
Thursday, April 3, 2014 – Cococouleur – A Short Treatise on Inner Life
I give thanks for the impulse to acquire this little book, which came to me while I was browsing the aisles of the FNAC bookstore waiting for my partner. Frédéric Lenoir, you were unknown to me until now. You write so accurately about what I think, what I feel, and so clearly that I feel the desire, even the need, to give A Short Treatise on Inner Life to my friends and also to some members of my family, with whom I disagree, to help them understand where I'm headed. I have so much progress to make… Thank you!
Thursday, March 27, 2014 – Gianny – Sharing experience, poem written on May 26, 1985.
I dedicate it to you, thank you. Happiness is given, often alone with our dreams, torn apart, tormented by our demons, all inclined to raise the sword for glory, hatred too, passion, "Always tempted, drawn to the impossible, sure of reaching the maximum of the possible." Even in error, the irreparable by extension, we lull ourselves with chimeras, with illusions. Faith, love will prevail over these adventures with little horizon. Let us give meaning to our short life, in pure feelings, even to the point of excess. Without being a saint, I can love, adore, for I will be somewhat forgiven. Humble in my human condition, my existence will emerge from the shadows. In a beam, the light furrows, pierces my heart from which resonates a solemn song, my soul shivers with happiness that my selfish body imprisons. Ecstasy, my mind detaches itself, surrenders, soars to the firmament, gives itself up and surrenders.
Sunday, March 23, 2014 – JPFE554 – Book: A Short Treatise on Inner Life.
I just read your book for the first time. I found it easy to read and full of good advice. Thank you very much. Regards.
Friday, March 14, 2014 – Nathalie – God
for this magnificent book which simply allows us to return to the essence of God.
Friday, March 14, 2014 – Déef – Stuckange (57) – Tears of Joy.
Obviously, I've been reading you for a very long time and I never tire of your words. None of your texts has left me without personal reflection. I even discovered a knack for sales by renting your books. And I must admit that I'm quite proud to have introduced you to my friends and family. There are some juicy anecdotes to share about that. But it's something else I want to share with you. Recently, my daughter gave me a gift. It didn't take me long to realize it was a book, even before I'd unwrapped it. Yet my surprise was twofold: first, discovering your book, * On Happiness: A Philosophical Journey* , and then finding out that my daughter had patiently waited in a long line in Strasbourg for you to sign it for me. I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I cried. At that precise moment, my happiness was complete and, above all, uncontrollable. You are the first author to have signed one of the many books in my library. Thank you for this moment of shared happiness, thanks to that small message written on the blank page of your book, which I devoured and absolutely loved.
Thursday, March 13, 2014 – Alfala – A “happy” coincidence…
In moral and physical distress since (?)… one day, the frenetic, mechanical pace in which I was drowning my body overwhelmed my “physical” ability to go to work, to be available to others… my only driving force, being in the healthcare field. I lost what little sense of complete usefulness, of control… of (voluntary) forgetting of that small, isolated self… The break overwhelmed me with anxiety… to inhabit time “for myself,” to reconnect… to awaken, to reawaken… And to face the “dominoes” of my life, scattered there, which I could see very clearly without feeling I had the strength or the ability to reorganize them to “rebuild” a reliable and harmonious structure, with solid foundations. "Chance"—and I smile when I say this word because does it really exist?—led me to search for an author recommended by a friend. By a "missed click of the mouse," I discovered your discussion on "Happiness." I listened. I was immediately struck by the accuracy of your words, questions, and feelings, described with, of course, broad knowledge, which pulled me out of a solitude of the "unprecedented." Every life is, of course, unique, but we are often under the illusion that we are "alone" in thinking "like this," in feeling "this"... that we are crushed by a thousand introspections while others, perhaps lighter, seem to live "so well." This is how you, F. Lenoir, whom I didn't know, have strongly "connected" me, in a very broad sense, to others, to the senses. You have sometimes touched my heart by evoking in your book the boundless beauty of nature, everywhere. It's so true and precious to appreciate it. It makes you feel stronger. After finishing your little treatise, the philosophy of Happiness is now with me everywhere... in my bag, in the sun, on a shared bench, facing a mirror-like pond... I don't know you, and yet this chance encounter accompanies me in a simple, positive peace each day, and in the moment, it nourishes me... "Thank you" for your words, for your beautifully crafted lines...
Saturday, March 8, 2014 – Emerance – Giving Meaning to One's Life.
Frédéric Lenoir writes: “Being happy means learning to choose… one's path, one's profession, one's way of living and loving… Building a professional career, for example, requires identifying an activity that suits us, in which we can flourish…” Researchers at INSEE (the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies) have shown that the overall life satisfaction index steadily declines from age 20 to 50, only to rise significantly until age 70. But they don't really understand why. Frédéric Lenoir offers an explanation: the decline up to age 50 corresponds to the loss of illusions and the confrontation with the difficulties of adult life; the rise corresponds to the blossoming of maturity… sometimes we rebuild our lives on new values, on new desires. This is particularly true for me professionally. For thirty years, I bore the weight of my upbringing, my educational path, my job security, and even more so, the hierarchical power within the company. It wasn't until around the age of 40 that I began to awaken and detach myself, finally seizing an opportunity at 50 to escape my suffering. Does money buy happiness? Frédéric Lenoir writes: "Certainly, a minimum of money contributes to happiness, but the relentless pursuit of wealth is just as harmful." Indeed, if I hadn't had money, I wouldn't have been able to end my suffering. I can also confirm that since I stopped earning money and started investing in what I love, I am much happier, owing nothing in return to any employer! I strongly encourage those who read this article to get Frédéric Lenoir's book, which is a true life lesson, using quotes from great philosophers and linking them to different religions, another of Frédéric Lenoir's specialties: a work enriched with sociology and neuroscience, accessible to all.
Wednesday, March 5, 2014 – Anoushka – The Philosopher Christ
Hello Mr. Lenoir, thank you so much for this sublime, luminous book. But I don't know how to express the immense happiness, the immense joy, it brings me. What I had sensed and what I had been searching for only in my heart for so long had always been there. Our daily lives have been so steeped, so marked, but we perceive a light through the walls erected, all the clutter, the dust of centuries. The true message and a true face reach us today… little by little… Due to difficult circumstances, my son was not baptized at birth, you see. But what was initially an offense to our respective in-laws turned out to be a gift! A gift from life! As young parents, we had concluded that he would choose his religion! So I am happy, even more so today for my son, because he will indeed choose freely, with full awareness. And know that I'm gradually introducing your books into the life of this young man whose birthday it is this month. Along with a few other books of wisdom and meditation. I'm simply acting as a bridge so that he has a solid foundation in this troubled and difficult world. As for me, your books are part of my own path now, and I'm beginning to contemplate a little "the infinite wells of light in the sky." I'll read the Gospels one day, when the time is right… and a few philosophers here and there, Montaigne among others. But for now, as I'm an indefatigable reader, and often simply for the pleasure of this solitary, slow reading, away from the world, in the gardens this spring, I'm starting Bashō, Issa, Shiki – For a Philosophy of the Moment – by V. Brochard and P. Senk, a small paperback. You see, I'm hooked, ha ha ha! Thank you, and I look forward to future reading.
Sunday, March 2, 2014 – Flan
Thank you for your teachings. I am Catholic and I appreciate your approach to spirituality. However, you don't often discuss African beliefs and our understanding of Christianity. I would like to have your books; please tell me how to obtain them more easily here in Ivory Coast. Thank you . → French publishers don't work directly with foreign publishers. Therefore, you would need to order from a local bookstore. Keep us informed!
Monday, February 24, 2014 – Caroline Claire – Thank you
For the past few months, as I've been going through a difficult time in my life, your books have been comforting companions, sometimes even lifelines… Thank you for what you share with us, for your authenticity and simplicity. 🙂
Monday, February 24, 2014 – Lauraline – La Rochelle (17) – A real gem!
I'm posting on my blog today: "What an intelligent book! It takes us on a journey hand in hand with the philosophers of happiness, following the author's reflections on this magnificent word. We encounter the great thinkers of antiquity, but also Montaigne, Spinoza, Schopenhauer, Westerners as well as Easterners, and we take real pleasure in encountering their thoughts, filtering them through our own lens. The continuous advances in neuroscience also add fuel to the fire. To build one's happiness, to live and share the concept, there are two options: either, like traditional civilizations and others, we don't ask questions and we live in the moment in communion with nature, in respect for others, in sharing; or we delve into it and, with the help of thinkers from all eras, we advance in the (re)discovery of the concept." The words are defined, clarified, the thought honed to refine its contours—a delight, I tell you! The author's train of thought is fluid, extremely easy to follow, and makes you want to jot down a bunch of phrases that resonate with you throughout the reading. Perhaps the other option is to reread this little book regularly, sparkling like bubbles of happiness! Thank you!
Thursday, February 20, 2014 – ginaspen – Thoughts and Other States
Many thanks to Frédéric Lenoir for sharing his knowledge and inspirations. I would also like to share some personal inspirations, intuitions, and observations that connect Nature to God. Thoughts and Other States… The Three Es, or, The Eternal Being, Amazed. Wonder delights the senses, Let your senses amaze your soul; May the sweet fragrance of a flower gladden your spirit; May the rich and varied colors of the exotic bird's plumage, Illuminate your eyes with a rainbow, May its song revive your joy of being. Scrutinize the infinite Milky Way, You will read in your soul; Bathe your body in Nature, you are bound to Her, She is the mirror of your being. Tell humankind, though but a grain of sand, that it must live in harmony with its creator, lest it jeopardize its mechanism and return to the dust of darkness. Tell humankind that this miracle it named Eden is also rooted within it, just like the depths of the seas, the lush forests, and the deserts of ice and sand; all these have shaped your being with their essences. Observe, immerse yourself in this astonishing Nature, pay homage to it at every moment, for it is she who nourishes you. Your fears, your desires, your longings are but fleeting; from your body, from your soul, Eden will be nourished.
Wednesday, February 19, 2014 – JFL – jf51160@orange.fr – Shared Conceptions Hello, I must first thank Frédéric Lenoir for having the courage to express his conception of "life" as he experiences it and to find the right words to convey his perception. For my part, for over 40 years my research has led me to the same perspective, through various readings and instruction, which have allowed me to move towards a common ground shared by all religious, spiritual, and intellectual orientations, which can be summarized as a form of tolerance and respect for everything around us: objects, life—mineral, vegetable, animal, human, etc.—with a profound certainty about the natural laws that govern them: biological, chemical, atomic, electrical, etc., stemming from a primary energetic movement, without which nothing would have happened. But everyone is free to interpret it according to their own understanding and evolution within their personal environment, using their own words. As for me, regarding the pure energy movement that naturally connects us all, I have found only one word to date that best translates it: "LOVE." Thank you again, Jean-François
Sunday, February 16, 2014 – Stéphane – Cloud Mapping I discovered you today through * The Healing of the World *, a book I enjoyed and read with great reflection. Thank you for sharing with us a world that I believe is capable of motivating itself to move forward, to take action, despite the excessive power wielded by far too many human beings and the rampant materialism that overflows with stupidity. I hope we won't all be sheep, as the media that governs us would have us believe. In this book, you conclude by suggesting James Cameron's *Avatar*, which I enjoyed, just as you did, with its portrayal of a powerful army where order reigns but also disorder, devoid of human values. If I may, I would like to suggest that you watch and add (albeit belatedly) a second choice to your list of "anticipatory visions": the film by Andy and Lana Wachowski and Tom Tykwer, "Cloud Atlas." This film, one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, conveys the message of hope, because we are all connected, but we must find our own path, and nothing can destroy love. I will most certainly be one of your new fans. Thank you.
Saturday, February 15, 2014 – Talant 21 – Testimonial
Thank you, thank you, I just finished your latest book! I read it with relish and ended with the desire to discover each of your other works, thank you.
Monday, February 10, 2014 – Delphine – Paris (75) – Thank you.
A huge thank you for the simplicity with which you describe the essentials. My father gave me *The Soul of the World* for Christmas; it was a wonderful gift! And what a gift it was to discover your other works as well, so clear and insightful. What light! You share with us your quest, so sincere and so genuine, so universal, and for that: thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Sunday, February 9, 2014 – Claude – On Happiness, a Philosophical Journey
Hello, I read a lot of books, and sometimes I stumble upon one. While I was discovering you on a radio program, my wife was discovering you in a small bookstore: it was therefore time for us to read you. I started with * The Soul of the World *, which was enjoyable, before embarking on *On Happiness*. It was a revelation, not a discovery, no, I've already read many books on mindfulness, self-confidence, and nonviolent communication, and the themes addressed are not new, but they are treated so simply, so profoundly, with gentleness and precision, that it was a pleasure to read, and I will reread it soon, taking the time I haven't given it yet. Thank you for this encounter, and I hope to have others in your company (I feel as if I can hear you speaking to me when I read your work).
Wednesday, February 5, 2014 – Colette – Thank
you, Frédéric Lenoir, for this wonderful book, *The Soul of the World* . It summarizes some of the books I've read on my spiritual quest. I recognized the little stories, the wise sayings, and above all, the universality of its message. I will certainly reread it, perhaps even learn it by heart, as it is so good and soothing to my soul.
Sunday, February 2, 2014 – Annie
Monsieur Lenoir, I discovered you on radio and television just a few months ago! What a shame I didn't know you sooner! A real oversight on my part! It came at just the right time, when I needed it, and as a result, I was probably much more receptive to your contributions. In any case, I take great pleasure in listening to you; it does me a world of good. I've done some research online and discovered several of your books. I'm currently reading "A Short Treatise on Inner Life, " an easy and beautiful philosophical approach for someone like me who is new to your work and a beginner in this area. I can't wait to buy your latest book and immerse myself in "HAPPINESS"! I'm sure I'll be one of your future and loyal readers, listeners, and viewers! See you soon.
Saturday, February 1, 2014 – Neldu01 – Bellignat (01) – On Happiness, a Philosophical Journey.
A huge THANK YOU, Mr. Lenoir, for writing for everyone. This book is a delight for me, full of simple truths we should hear every day. That's exactly what I understood when I saw or heard you on December 25, 2013. I made a note to get one of your books, and someone kindly gave me this one. Reading it is pure Happiness. And I would say it's worth far more than therapy sessions and all sorts of self-help books. In fact, I would say this book should be in the hands of everyone who has lost faith or doesn't know where they're going. In search of the joy of living, it puts us back in our place, grounding us firmly on the earth we inhabit. It lifted my spirits, and when I finish it, I'll reread it, and reread it until... I'll smile from morning till night, finally, at life. Give this book to anyone who is sensitive, open-minded, not necessarily intellectual, but who wants to escape the darkness in their mind. This book is my ray of sunshine. I'll read your other works as soon as I've had my fill of this one and fully digested it. Happy reading to all. Best wishes.

Bravo and thank you for the LITTLE TREATISE ON THE INNER LIFE, which is a source of grace. Frédéric Lenoir has the soul of St. Paul.
Monday, January 27, 2014 – Vinca – Comment:
Little treatise on inner life, thank you for the remedy.
Wednesday, January 22, 2014 – José Luis Brun – Zaragoza (Spain) – Acknowledgment
Hello Mr. Lenoir, three or four years ago I discovered one of your books by chance in Bedous, a small village in the Aspe Valley in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. It was *How Jesus Became God*, and afterwards I bought the same book a second time as a gift for a friend who is a professor of Ancient Religions at the University of Zaragoza. And then I decided to become a regular reader of your works. In one of your books you recommended Christian Bobin, and that's why I rushed to buy several of his books. Thank you very much for your recommendation of Bobin. I agree with you. I'm now finishing your magnificent *L'oracle della Luna* because, in addition to its educational aspect, which I always appreciate in books, it should be considered an adventure novel where the author seeks to keep the reader on the edge of their seat. Frédéric, simply thank you.
Monday, January 20, 2014 – Anne – Grenoble (38) – The Roots of Heaven
Dear Frédéric, I'm not worried at all about the change in the Roots of Heaven broadcast times! Quite the opposite! What a joy to stay snuggled up in my pillows, duvet pulled up tight, day breaking through the shutters, and to let the day begin gently while listening to you!! Thank you for your always interesting programs, which spark curiosity and open up new worlds! Thank you also to Leili, who accompanies you so well and shares her readings with us so beautifully!

Hello Mr. Lenoir, all my best wishes for 2014, and please continue to delight us with your books… I thank you a thousand times… your books are a true delight, whether it's "The Keys of the Wise" or that famous philosophical journey. There is so much spirituality in your books! The Bible and you! It's another dimension, it's good for the soul and the mind. THANK YOU. It's true, what is happiness? A flower? It sheds its petals like a daisy, fragile and fickle, it gives itself at the whim of the wind! Receive my best wishes… Danielle Sauter, Danielle… pollux
Fri 17 Jan 2014 – Philippe Deliège (@estocadaPhil) – Brussels – A Short Treatise on Inner Life
Hello Frédéric, how can I put this? I discovered your discourse, your ease on television sets (notably 50° nord produced by RTBF and ARTE), so I remembered your name, …, but found you so well suited to the television format, …that something held me back from reading you, … or more precisely from dedicating time to truly discover you… And then, while browsing at FNAC, I decided to buy A Short Treatise on Inner Life , … at this moment, I haven't finished it yet, but I can't help but say thank you now. I have rarely read anything so fluid that explains, synthesizes, and illustrates Eastern and Western thought… I'm almost embarrassed to thank you in such a complicated way 😉 The only slight criticism I have is the lack of reference to Islam, which must surely be full of treasures. I say probably because it's a religion that we probably don't know enough about, even though I live in Brussels where this religion is very present, while still remaining mysterious to me. It's just an observation; I understand that you are primarily Christian… and that you are more familiar with Eastern thought than Islam. … For my part, I was raised by a Catholic mother and an atheist father. My freedom of belief was, for them, an absolute and divine right, so my mother accepted my life choice until the very end 😉 Thank you again, Frédéric, and if it's still your wish, I would ask you to continue writing! Because selfishly, I need it.

Tuesday, January 7, 2014 – Elfette – Just "that"...
In addition to wishing you an excellent 2014, I wish you all the happiness in the world! Thank you for existing – I never tire of reading your books, which bring a real breath of fresh air and a humanist perspective to this increasingly less humane world! PS Someone wrote that you call the French welfare recipients – for your information, I'm on welfare (against my will), but at 54, it's becoming very difficult to find a job – and yet, I dream of being able to work again… Therefore, your books are a great help in helping me cope with my situation – so much so that I've decided to write an essay myself, and in a way, you're "responsible" for this desire! But shh! If I manage to get it published one day, I'll let you know…

Monday, January 6, 2014 – Anoushka – On Happiness
Happy New Year 2014, Mr. Lenoir. I read your book, On Happiness . A small book that touches on the essence, leaving space for happiness in silence, like the wind and light between the pages. One wanders through it peacefully, reading about Epictetus (I happened to read his manual a long time ago, borrowed from a café's library, and copied it out entirely). I enjoyed the whole journey, but especially the passages at the end of the route with Buddha, Montaigne, Zhuangzi, Spinoza… In fact, where the journey begins… Thank you for the wonderful programs on France Culture about “mystical women” and those with Charles Juliet, whom I discovered about ten years ago through a book by Christian Bobin. It was such a joy to listen to Bobin afterward! Thank you for your presence, your voices with Leili Anvar. Lots of beautiful and calming reading… I wish you serenity, harmony, joy… and time, happiness with family, friends, nature.
Sunday, January 5, 2014 – Valérie – The Soul of the World
Hello Mr. Lenoir, this is the third book of yours I've read, and I'm still just as thrilled! I'm going to become a "Lenoir addict" 😉! I REALLY loved The Soul of the World . Thank you for this introduction to the world's diverse wisdom traditions and this reinterpretation of tales and meditations through your beautiful story. Your book invites reflection and a renewal of ideas; well done! I read the illustrated version and appreciated the quality of the paintings; so I also thank Alexis Chabert. Sincerely, and a very happy new year to you, to all your loved ones, and to your readers 🙂
Sunday, January 5, 2014 – Soph33 – Reading The Soul of the World Dear Frédéric, last night my husband and I gathered a few friends to celebrate the New Year. A longtime friend gave me your book, THE SOUL OF THE WORLD. I devoured it eagerly, like when I wake up ravenous the day after a party… Three years ago, I began studying sophrology, and in your book, I find everything that motivates me today. I encountered my doubts, my desires, my progress, and my fears. Cleansing to return to the essential and knowing how to give oneself entirely to oneself and to the world is difficult because we are completely conditioned and perpetually pulled away from ourselves. This pulling is painful, and accessing oneself is a true conquest (at least in my case). Your book sustains my momentum, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wish you continued success on this wonderful path you have embarked upon. Warmest regards, Sophie.
Wednesday, January 1, 2014 – Benoît – Geneva (Switzerland) – On Happiness: A Philosophical Journey.
Dear Sir, a brief note to express my sincere gratitude for the intensity and quality of the message contained in your book on happiness. After recently hearing you on Swiss television (TSR), I rushed to buy your book. I was delighted. Your book offers an incredible overview, concise yet comprehensive and clear, giving the reader the very essence of the human quest for happiness, a quest pursued for thousands of years. I am the modern man you describe so well in your book. At 57 years old, from a strong Protestant Christian background, concerned with bringing happiness to others, at work and at home, while also seeking my own, I suddenly found myself at the center of the most violent crisis of my life. My life suddenly became meaningless. My perpetual quest for perfection seemed to me like a mad dash leading nowhere. Many questions then arose: should I strive for my own personal well-being? By what means? For what purpose? Should I work solely for the good of others? Can one exist without the other? And so many other questions. The discovery of meditation gave me a path to follow to find a possible way forward. This path led me to your writings, particularly your latest book. It should be read once, twice, ten times, perhaps more, and meditated upon. Explore the paths it opens with intelligence, culture, and respect for the reader. The reminder of the history of ideas, of the issues that have been the focus of this quest for happiness that you undertake, is remarkably enlightening and allows us to situate our reflections as 21st-century individuals within the history of humanity and to try to discover our own path. I was going to say that reading your work is a "joy," and as I write it, I realize that this joy is precisely the theme of your book! Perhaps the book itself is one of the steps leading to it…
