Philosophizing with children
Even if children don't yet possess the language and conceptual tools to follow history of philosophy courses, they are wonderful budding philosophers! As Aristotle reminds us, philosophy begins with wonder, which leads to questioning, and then reasoning. Because they constantly wonder and question, children easily learn—through philosophical workshops—to argue and develop thinking skills that will allow them to cultivate personal thought, critical thinking, and also psychosocial skills such as empathy, listening, and tolerance. Drawing on his ten years of experience working with children and teenagers, Frédéric Lenoir will explain the methods for practicing philosophy with children.
