1- Philosophy – Baruch Spinoza, the philosopher of freedom
The philosopher and sociologist Frédéric Lenoir will give a lecture on Baruch Spinoza, a major figure of the 17th century whose thought profoundly revolutionized Western philosophy. Through his work and life story, Spinoza invites us to rethink freedom, joy, and our relationship to the world.
2- Concert – “Gracias a la vida”: an anthem to love and life
The evening will continue with the recital "Gracias a la vida", performed by Anne-Lise Polchlopek, mezzo-soprano, accompanied on guitar by Pierre Laniau.
A subtle fusion of classical and popular music, this program transcends eras and latitudes in a vibrant tribute to love and life. Reflecting Anne-Lise Polchlopek's diverse career, the recital brings together works by Leonard Bernstein, Richard Strauss, Manuel de Falla, Gabriel Fauré, Olivier Messiaen, Cécile Chaminade, Pauline Viardot, Maurice Ravel, and others.
